Dear Students and Faculty of Design and Computation Arts,



I would like to officially announce the designation of room EV7.745

as an open studio available for the students who are enrolled in the

Department of Design and Computation Arts. This decision has been taken in

order to meet many student requests in past years for this type of space.



Approximately one quarter of the space is reserved for the Graduate
Certificate

Students at the Master's level in our department.  The remaining space is
reserved

for all undergraduate students who are in our programs. This space is

accessible for student activities and group work, but it is also a great

space to socialize and to discover other students' projects.



*Lounge Space*



In Dart 447 (3D Design Technologies) the students are designing furniture

and planning a lounge space adjacent to the garage door entrance. This

lounge space will be available for students and faculty who wish to have
discussions

in a more comfortable setting.



This space will be ready at the end of the current semester, because we need

the time to design and build the furniture. In the meantime, you will find

recuperated furniture from the GM Building, which Jake Moore has saved from

the trash. We might revamp part of this furniture, but the current setting

is *TEMPORARY!!*



Please do not hesitate to use the space right away for your needs, just

remember to keep the space clean.

*Please note:  It is forbidden to use spray paint and glue in this studio or
any toxic products.*



I hope you will appreciate the opportunity to work in this studio and to

have the occasion to interact with your peers.  As Chair of the

Department, I am working in close collaboration with the student
associations

to manage this space, any suggestions are welcome.
